The film is set in 1764, during the reign of King Louis XV. A terrifying beast is preying upon villagers in the French province of Gรฉvaudan, leaving behind a trail of gruesome murders. To investigate the mystery, the King sends knight Grรฉgoire de Fronsac (Samuel Le Bihan), a naturalist and adventurer, accompanied by his Native American companion Mani (Mark Dacascos).
As they delve deeper into the investigation, Fronsac and Mani uncover a sinister conspiracy involving secret societies, political intrigue, and a monstrous force unlike anything theyโve ever encountered.
